GUIDLINES FOR AUTHORS

The Journal publishes original papers on natural resources. The articles are directed to researchers, planners, teachers, managers, and producers. The Journal is periodic, biannual, one issue being online, and the other online and printed.

Papers go through a peer-review process using a single-blind method. When the author or authors are related to the editorial staff, the double-blind method is used. Reviewers are anonymous, except express indication otherwise. The final decision on the paper is the exclusive responsibility of the Editor. Authors will receive a page proof for their control.

Papers published in the Journal do not necessarily express the Editor’s or IADIZA’s opinions regarding legal aspects, boundaries issues, or policies on natural resources.

The Journal will give preference to papers on conservation and management of natural resources, sustainable development, protected areas, and eco-farming.

Upon acceptance and publication of the paper by the Journal, the copyright is transferred from the author to IADIZA. These rights cover distribution, reprints, and any form of reproduction.



Manuscript

Use double spacing, and leave wide margins. The article extention should be approximately of 3500 words. All pages must be numbered, and all identified. Use a standard word procesor. The general required structure follows: Introduction, Material and method, Results, Discussion, Conclusions (optional), Acknowledgements, Bibliography (only those mentioned in the text). All contributions will be reviewed by external reviewers, simple blind system. Reviewers are anonymous, except specific indication by them. Contributions of members of the Editorial Staff or collaborators of the Editor are considered under double blind system. Authors will be notified on the decision as soon as possible. Final decision belongs exclusively to the Editor. Authors will dispose of a page proof for their control.



Title, Name

Provide the title in full; the author´s name, affiliation, and present address; and e-mail address of corresponding author to submit the proofs.



Resumen - Abstract

Articles in other native language must include an extensive Resumen in Spanish.

All articles must include an abstract of 100-200 words.



In-text References

References in the text follow the scientific standard format. For example:

  • ... spatial distribution of A. thaliana rosette leaves was also found to be affected by the presence of neighbours (Crepy & Casal, 2014)
  • According to Roig (1976) plant communities...
  • An author with more that one publication in the same year, must indicate it with letters.


Photographs, Tables and Figures

All photographs, tables, and figures should be correlatively numbered, and sent in separate files.

Photographs must be changed by figures when possible.

All figures must be suitable for reproduction. Check that all lettering and lines support the reduction to fit the dimension of the page (12 x 18 cm). Indicate it left margin of the text (with red line) the most appropriate location of figures. Prefer TIFF or JPG format, with a resolution not less than 300 dpi.

A correct example of bibliography:

Other Information

Avoid using footnotes.

The metric system is to be used.
