IADIZA conducts scientific research aimed at understanding and explaining the structure and functioning of drylands

Behavioral Ecology Research Group

The aim of the Behavioral Ecology Research Group (IADIZA-CONICET) is to study the adaptive value of individual behavior. We are interested in understanding the effect of behavior on the fitness of individuals in the environment they inhabit. Our research program is based on detailed observation of animal behavior in natural environments and the evaluation of alternative hypotheses.

Avian Biology Research Team

The Avian Biology Research Team is interested in applying an integrative approach with a strong base on natural history for a detailed understanding of avian behavior. Our research program involves the study of the interactions between life history traits, breeding biology, parental care, mating systems and communication.
